Proudly Human (US LLC and Australian Pty Ltd, ABN: 52 689 777 062), is the data controller for information collected through Proudly Human Student.

2. What We Collect
We collect the following information:
- Account information: your name, email address, preferred language, and a hashed version of your password.
- Uploaded documents: the academic work you submit for verification.
- Payment metadata: transaction records provided by Stripe. We never store your full card details; these remain with Stripe.
- Technical logs: IP address, browser user agent, and timestamps, collected for security and fraud prevention.
- Institutional affiliation: if your account is linked to a partner university, we record that affiliation.
3. How We Use It
We use your information to:
- Process verifications and issue ProudlyHuman™ certificates
- Make your certificate publicly verifiable (see section 5)
- Send account, billing, and certification communications
- Prevent fraud and abuse
- Meet our legal and regulatory obligations
4. What We Do Not Do
We do not sell your personal data.
We do not use your documents to train AI models.
We do not share your documents with anyone.
5. Public Verification Pages
Each ProudlyHuman™ certificate has a public verification page at proudlyhumanstudent.com/verify/{certificate-number}. This page is accessible to anyone with the link and shows:
- The certificate holder's name
- The certificate issue date
The document's contents are never published or shared. By obtaining a certificate, you consent to this limited information being made publicly accessible so that your friends, family and others are aware of the human authenticity of your work.
6. Institution-Linked Accounts
If your account is linked to a partner university or college they will pay your certification fee, however, they will not be informed of the status of your application.
7. Third Party Services
We use trusted third parties to operate Proudly Human Student. Each operates under a data privacy agreement to ensure absolute confidentiality.
8. Retention
Your documents and certificates are retained for the lifetime of your account unless you delete them earlier.
Payment records are retained for up to 7 years for tax compliance purposes, even after account deletion.
9. Your Rights
You can access, correct, export, or delete your personal data at any time via Account Settings or by emailing support@proudlyhuman.org.
If you are located in the EU or UK, you have additional rights under the GDPR, including the right to object to processing and to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
If you are located in Australia, you have rights under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), including the right to access and correct information we hold about you.
10. Account Deletion
Deleting your account from Account Settings permanently removes your associated personal data. Some records, such as payment records required for tax compliance, must be retained by law and cannot be deleted before the end of their required retention period.
11. International Data Transfers
Your data may be processed in the United States, Australia, and other jurisdictions where we or our sub-processors operate. [CONFIRM: specific regions before publication.]

12. Minors' Privacy
Proudly Human Student is intended for users aged 16 and over. Users who are under the age of majority in their location should have the consent of a parent or guardian where required by applicable law.
We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under the age of 16. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
13. Security
