Refund Policy

When you submit a document for verification, our system processes it immediately. The assessment is performed at the time of submission, and the result, once published, is permanent and publicly accessible. For these reasons we are generally unable to offer refunds.

Certification costs US$7 for an essay (up to 10,000 words), US$14 for an honours thesis (up to 25,000 words), US$28 for a Masters thesis (up to 50,000 words) and US$42 for a PhD thesis (up to 100,000 words).

If you study at a partner university, your institution may cover the certification fee on your behalf, or have it invoiced directly to the institution. Contact your institution to confirm whether this applies to you.

We will consider a refund in the following circumstances:

• Technical failure: a fault on our end prevented your certificate from being issued, downloaded, or shared after a successful verification.
• Duplicate charge: you were charged more than once for the same document.
• Early withdrawal: you request a refund within 24 hours of submission, before the result has been published and made publicly verifiable.

To request a refund under any of these circumstances, please see section 6.

We do not offer refunds in the following situations:

• "Not certified" or "indeterminate" result: a completed assessment, including an unsuccessful one, is a service delivered. The outcome of the verification is not grounds for a refund.
• Change of mind: a refund is not available after the verification has been completed and the result published.
• Certificate already shared: if your certificate has already been provided to or relied upon by a third party, a refund is not available.

A refunded certificate is revoked and will show as invalid on the public verification page. This is irreversible. If you receive a refund, your certification can no longer be used to verify human-authorship of your document.

Email support@proudlyhuman.org from the email address associated with your account, and include your certification number. We will review your request and respond within 3 business days.

Approved refunds are returned to your original payment method. Processing times may vary depending on your bank or card issuer.

Nothing in this Refund Policy limits any rights you have under applicable consumer law that cannot be excluded by contract, for example consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law. [CONFIRM: additional jurisdictions to cite before publication.]
