Terms of Service
These Terms of Service govern your use of Proudly Human Student, a service of 23 First Corporation trading as Proudly Human (US LLC and Australian Pty Ltd, ABN: 52 689 777 062). By creating an account or submitting a document, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully.
1. The Service
Proudly Human Student provides an automated review of academic documents you upload: essays, assignments, research papers, theses and dissertations. We accept documents as PDF or DOCX files up to 50 MB.
If your document passes our review, we issue a digital ProudlyHuman™ certificate confirming that the document was assessed as created by you, not "predominantly generated by an AI model." The certificate includes an official certification mark, a unique certification number, a public verification web page, and a QR code.
2. Your Account
You must provide accurate and complete information when creating your account, and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity that occurs on your account.
You must be at least 16 years old.
If you believe your account has been compromised, please contact us immediately at support@proudlyhuman.org.
3. Your Content
You retain ownership of everything you upload. By submitting a document, you grant us a limited licence to process, store, hash and verify those documents for the purpose of providing the service.
We do not sell your content and we do not use it to train AI models. We do not share your uploaded documents with anyone.
4. Certification Scope
A certificate is an opinion based on automated analysis at the time of submission. It is not a guarantee, an endorsement, or a substitute for an institution's own academic-integrity processes.
A result of "not certified" or "indeterminate" is a completed assessment of the service. It is not a finding of misconduct and is not, by itself, grounds for a refund (see our Refund Policy).
We do not guarantee that any university, examiner, or other party will accept or rely on a certificate. Proudly Human Student is an independent certification service, and decisions about how to use our certificates remain with institutions and individuals.
We may revoke a certificate if the underlying document is found to have been misrepresented, or if the associated payment is refunded or charged back.
5. Payments and Refunds
Payments are processed securely by Stripe. We never store your card details. Your first document is free. Each additional document costs [CONFIRM: A$X.XX]. Students linked to a partner university may have their fees covered or invoiced to their institution.
Refunds are governed by our separate Refund Policy. Refunded or charged-back certifications are revoked.
6. Prohibited Use
You must not use Proudly Human Student to:
- Submit work you did not write yourself
- Submit documents you do not have the right to submit
- Submit a document on behalf of someone else
- Attempt to circumvent or game the verification process
- Use the service to deceive an institution, examiner, or any other party
- Resell or misrepresent certificates issued by us
Breach of these terms may result in immediate account suspension and certificate revocation.
7. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability
The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of fitness for a particular purpose or accuracy of verification outcomes.
Our total liability for any claim arising from your use of this service is limited to the amount you paid for the certification giving rise to the claim.
Nothing in these terms excludes any rights you have under applicable consumer law that cannot legally be excluded, for example guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law.
8. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these terms. We will give you reasonable notice where possible.
You may delete your account at any time from Account Settings. Deletion permanently removes your associated data, subject to records we are required to retain by law.
9. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
[CONFIRM: governing law and jurisdiction, likely Victoria, Australia for the Australian entity and/or the relevant US state for the US LLC. State the chosen governing law and venue before publication.]
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or via an in-app notice. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
11. Contact
For any questions about these terms, please contact us at support@proudlyhuman.org.
